Account & Access

Here you will find all the information about domain management.

To receive your access data, you can send us an email at domain@addleader.de and make a request.

The addLeader team will provide the necessary access details to help you log into the system successfully.

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

The cost of a domain varies depending on the chosen top-level domain (TLD). For a .DE domain, the price typically ranges from just a few euros. However, for more specialized TLDs, such as .GAME, costs can be as high as 300 euros.

In addition to the domain costs, there may also be additional fees for hosting services.

We offer the current prices from domain registrars and pass them on to our customers with a small surcharge. The exact surcharge depends on the number of domains required.

If you would like a custom quote, feel free to contact us. We will create a tailored offer based on your specific requirements.

If your address changes, you need to report this update to the respective registry. A new “handle” (a unique identification number) will be created for this purpose.

You can then update the domain owner contact for the relevant domain in your domain management tool under “Change Domain Owner”.

This ensures that the information is accurate and up to date.

The publicly accessible information about your domains depends on the respective registry.

For .DE domains, information about the domain owner is currently not publicly visible.

However, it is important to note that depending on the top-level domain (TLD) and country, there may be an imprint obligation once the domain is associated with content.

In such cases, specific information, such as the name and contact details of the domain owner, must be made publicly available to comply with legal requirements.

Invoicing and payment are handled based on individual agreements, either quarterly, semi-annually, or annually.

Invoices are issued and sent according to the agreed payment terms and cycles.

It is important to contact the provider or the admin tool team to discuss and confirm the specific details and payment methods.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us at any time.

You can reach us at domain@addleader.de. Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need more information or assistance. We typically respond within 24 hours.

Security

Here you will find all the information about security.

You will receive automatic emails about every important action in your account. This includes successful domain registrations as well as changes to your user account.

Yes, it is possible to implement a double security layer based on agreement. This means that all domain changes and registrations will only take effect after our approval. This provides an additional security measure to prevent unauthorized changes.

If you do not require this enhanced security layer and prefer direct changes without our approval, please inform us via email. We will then adjust your settings accordingly

Domains are typically renewed automatically on an annual basis as long as you complete the payment and do not cancel the domain.

As long as you keep the domain active, do not terminate it, or approve a transfer, the domain remains reserved for you.

This means that no one else can claim the domain as long as you continue to pay the registration fees and keep it active.

It is your responsibility to ensure the domain is renewed regularly and remains in your possession.

Terms & Definitions

Here you will find explanations of various terms and definitions.

DNS stands for “Domain Name System.”

It is a fundamental component of the internet that translates human-readable domain names into numeric IP addresses used by computers to locate websites and other resources within a network.

The DNS acts like the “phonebook of the internet”, managing the mapping of domain names to IP addresses. For example, when you visit a website, the DNS translates the domain name (e.g., www.example.com) into its corresponding IP address (e.g., 192.0.2.1) to establish the connection.

This system enables seamless internet navigation without requiring users to remember numerical IP addresses.

A nameserver is an essential component of the Domain Name System (DNS). It is responsible for mapping domain names to their corresponding IP addresses. When you visit a website or send an email, the domain name you enter is sent to the nameserver, which returns the associated IP address.

Essentially, a nameserver acts as the “phonebook” of the internet, storing information about domains and their linked IP addresses. When a user enters a domain name, the nameserver directs the request to the correct server that hosts the requested content.

Types of Nameservers:

  1. Authoritative Nameservers – Manage and provide information about specific domains.
  2. Recursive Nameservers – Accept queries from clients and retrieve the required information from authoritative nameservers.

In summary, nameservers enable efficient and reliable communication on the internet by correctly linking domain names to IP addresses, ensuring smooth navigation and accessibility.

A handle is a unique identifier or reference number used to manage and organize information related to domain names. It is often associated with contact details for domain owners, administrative contacts, technical contacts, and other relevant information.

The purpose of a handle is to simplify the management and updating of information by providing a unique reference for a specific data set. Instead of repeatedly entering detailed contact information for multiple domains, the relevant data is stored and accessed through the associated handle.

When updates to contact details or other information are required, changes can be made directly via the handle, ensuring that the updated information is linked to the appropriate records.

Benefits of Handles:

  • Efficient domain management for multiple domains.
  • Consistency in storing and retrieving information.
  • Simplified updates for contact details without repetitive entries.

Handles make domain management more efficient and keep information organized, consistent, and easily accessible, especially for managing multiple domains or different contacts.

An Authinfo, also known as an Authinfo code, authentication code, or EPP code (Extensible Provisioning Protocol code), is a special code used to authorize a domain transfer or migration.

The Authinfo code serves as a security measure to ensure that the domain owner provides explicit consent for the transfer.

When is an Authinfo code needed?

You will typically need an Authinfo code when:

  • Transferring a domain to another registrar.
  • Changing the registrar for your domain.

This code is usually provided by your current registrar or the current domain owner upon request.

What does an Authinfo code look like?

The Authinfo code is a unique combination of letters, numbers, and special characters assigned to each domain.

Why is it important?

By entering the Authinfo code during the transfer process, you confirm that:

  • You are authorized to make changes to the domain.
  • The transfer is legitimate and approved by the domain owner.

The Authinfo code acts as a critical security measure to prevent unauthorized transfers and ensures that the domain owner retains full control over their domain.
